Hi from Boston, MA

Hi All,

I'm in the process of getting a new 2012 Unlimited Sahara (the wait is killing me). I currently have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that I've had for the last 8 years and have driven it across the country twice. She has bailed my ass (and others) out of some decent snow and mud. I'm going to miss her but the wife and I can't wait to get into the new model and have some new adventures. Plus I've never owned anything new before so it's pretty exciting.

If anyone is in the Boston area and doing some easy trails for a stock Sahara anytime soon let me know! We'd love to tag along and make some friends!

Also, we've got two dogs and wonder the best way to keep them from jumping out the back when we have the top off. I'm thinking doggy seatbelts but if anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm actually just north of the city in Malden. You?

I've been looking around all over the interwebs trying to find some trails either in Central MA or Southern NH and the best I have come up with are Class VI roads in NH. Seems that everyone is tight lipped (which I can understand to an extent) on where they go. I'm thinking I'm going to need to joing a club but don't really want to.

I've also heard of this place in ME that seems pretty fun, it's called All Wheels Off-Road Park. It's privately owned with 400+ acres of land to play on. Guess you can camp there too and it seems it's only like $10 to get in. Worst case I may head up there in the distant future.

I just moved to Arlington from Fall River. We had the State Forest down there

That place in Maine sounds cool, don't think I would want to drive that far on my mud tires though.

Rear cargo/safari netting is a popular option. Also chest harness with the leash attached to the roll bar or seatbelt anchor (with rear seats out).

Didn't think of that, mine Jeep will be a daily driver so I'm probably going to keep the stock tires for a bit.

You can go bigger on a DD, but I would stick with All Terrain Tires.

I cant hear the radio when I am on the highway, but I also only have a soft top.

Welcome to the Forum - I see a lot of Jeeps in Boston.

I've been to a couple of these NH Class VI roads. I can't tell you where they are, but I would be happy to show you sometime! My Sahara was completely stock when I went and I was fine. Picts are here:

I do most of my off roading in the the sand, down on the cape - have you thought of getting a beach sticker? I go to Nauset Beach and it's dog friendly. Beach info here:

Once I get my new Jeep I'll PM you and try to figure something out as I'm itching to go.

Didn't even think of the beaches down south I'm really going to have to look into that.

Anyone know of any beaches North of Boston or in Southern NH that have permits like this? I went through the forums and the thread below and didn't seen anything.
