Hi, I'm Bohrya, and I am a New Wrangler owner...

I guess this is were I talk about myself for a minute, give you all the low down on me:

I have always wanted a Wrangler, ever since I was interested in driving. Off-roading, camping, hiking and mud have been a large part of my life despite being raised a "city-folk"...don't hold it against me...so I'm glad I can finally say I am a Wrangler owner. Being that I am married with a daughter (and hopefully more to come) I had to go with the Unlimited and hard top, but at least my wife let me get my toy! I ordered my Jeep through Military Car Sells so I won't have any pictures until I get home but I did get one of only 200 Oscar Mike Special Editions. I will let everyone know my thought on it (if you are interested) when I get it and start my new life as a JK owner!

Because I am new, I would like to hear for other owners their ideas for adding some modest aftermarket additions or catalogs/sites that can be trusted, typical issues to lookout for (especially the safety factor for my daughter), and general knowledge on my JK (being there is no official specs sheet for the OM to be found on the web). I love to research, but will take any shortcuts that can be provided.

One last thought: because I am deployed to Iraq at the moment, my internet doesn't always work. Please be patient with me if I take awhile to reply or can't get to links/website.

It's nice to meet you, feel free to say hi or drop a line...I will try to get back to all of you in a timely manner!

Welcome Brother! I have to say, I think most of the people on this forum bought for the same reasons you did. Jeep ownership is different than any other Trucks, we are a unique breed. You really are a part of a unique lifestyle. My family members have different cars and trucks -- and no one else waves at other car or truck owners the way Jeep owners do.

In terms of aftermarket sites; I have bought from Quadratec. They will have many of the things you want, for a lower price than 4 wheel parts. I also recommend cross checking things through Amazon.com. I've bought some things for my Jeep on there for a great price. Lastly, do exactly what you're doing now: Post your pre-purchase on here and find out who else has purchased it before. Get insights and feedback.

You take care out there bud. Come home safe -- and when you do, we'll hit up the trails out here in So. Cal.

Thank you bbtj and Peepers! jeepers29, you are welcome, thank you.

Whodini, oh definitely...I'll let you know when I'm back. I need to see how she rides and everything so it would be fun to take her out! I was planning on posting a list of what I wanted to do on the JK/Cali Forums to see what others thought would be best for me to get before buying anything, and where in SoCal I could go/find an Off-Road Shop.

It is nice to know there are so many out there that do know what it is to own a Wrangler. I see way too many 4x4 that are "street 4x4s" only and it pains me to see them wasted. Yeah it looks nice, but they freak out over water spots! Shit, I take my Neon out muddy more then they do (laugh all you want, I never once got stuck!). Tho I have seen a few today that I know don't know what they got or why, most everyone else seems to know the importance of a Jeep. Refreshing.

Thanks XJ Knight, blkrubi88 and Barrie.

Knight, yeah, that it, the Tan one in the pic (not that one exactly, same color and size). I will be posting pics of mine as soon as I get home!
