Howdy from NV

Hi Everybody!

You may recognize me from certain other "jeep" forums back in the day, where I used to be a moderator, or from over on ExPo, OB, or any number of FSJ related sites.

Either way, after 11 years without a wrangler (10 of which were spent driving my 73 Wagoneer all over Nevada, CA and AZ) my wife and I are back!

After realizing we needed something more modern than my old wagon, we test drove a 4Runner for my wife to daily drive and me to do a mild build on for our back country exploring and camping trips. She hated it....... The next day we came home with a 2019 JLU Rubicon. After test driving it we were both like "duh" and made it happen.

So, excited to be back in the "little jeep" world, even though this little jeep is as big as my full size jeep! Is it as "cool" or "vintage" as the wagoneer? Nope, but it'll let us do a lot more, and we'll be able to do it a lot more comfortably and reliably, which is what matters to us at this point in our lives.

So, here we are.

Welcome to Wrangler Forum

Why thank you! Hopefully I'll be around for a while, and hopefully will meet some good folks and get some good info. Lord knows I was always around "that other place" until it went so far down hill.

Welcome to the forum... That is a nice rig! Great one to get back to Wranglers with, BUT!!?? What did you do with your 73 Wagoneer? Those are not an easy thing to find and are in great demand. I hope you sold it and put 50% down on your JL Rubi with the proceeds. My dad had a 77 with a 400 small block that the mechanic that had been taking care of it for 10 years, gave him WAY more than we thought it was worth. And that was back in 1995.

Don't worry, its still sitting in the garage. And its not worth all that much. If/when the day comes, I'd be happy if I could get $8k out of it. I need to get the headliner redone, but as it sits i'd drive it across the country. MSD Fuel injection, the engine is from an 87, in tank fuel pump, dana 44's front and rear from a 76 and 77, aluminum radiator, modified duraspark distributor with the EFI running timing control, dual diaphragm booster from a J20, new brakes all the way around, etc. etc. etc.
