It's a Jeep thing, I guess

Hey everyone, glad to have finally found my way here. I will try to keep this short, but usually that does not happen. I just got my first Jeep this past weekend, and looking to join into this community for a long time.

I have been modding vehicle for at least 15 years now, and have built some pretty crazy cars, trucks, quads, etc. Have gone lifted trucks, lowered trucks, import cars, muscle cars, race quads, mudbog quads, and back around twice. I have owned 27 vehicles since I was 16 years old. I grew up as a small kid loving Jeeps, and my grandfather had one. It was a beautiful CJ-7. Well, he always said that it would be mine one day, however life happened, and he passed away when I was 10 years old. The Jeep was sold, and i had a little missing part in my heart. Sept 4th, i filled that little hole.

I was a little reckless in my overall decision, I traded a 2000 Durango in great shape with lower miles, for a 94 Wrangler that has had a harder life, was already modded, but needed a good bit of TLC, and had alot, and I mean alot more miles. My wife just gave me the look when I told her what I was doing. Regardless, made the trade, got her home, and it wouldn't run. So, after a little troubleshooting, a new battery, and crank sensor later, the Jeep lives again.

I decided I'm going to go over this thing front to back, and get it reliable and back to normal everyday driving ready before anymore FUN parts go on. However, it does have 5"s of lift, 33" SS Trxus STS, Smittybilt front bumper and rock sliders, winch, and a few more FUN items.

I will continue to post my progress, and hopefully be able to not only learn but to be able to help others. Thanks for having me, and trying to read this overly long first post

Welcome to the obsession. I traded an 02 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad with 46000 miles for my 02 Sport with 112000 miles last April. I sometimes miss the size of my Dodge, but wouldn't trade back for anything.

At my age I am not afraid to say I am now mostly a Mall Crawler, but a lot of times I have the muddiest Mall Crawler around. You can curse a Mall Crawler but at least we don't own a Trailer Queen.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I will have pics of the Jeep very soon, but here are some of my other vehicles that I did up in the past:

97 Dakota - This picture was taken right before we lowered it 2"-4"

03 Vibe GT - Won several audio competitions with this thing. Also, became a little bit a star down the track beating several cars, that I thought should of smoked me:

04 Dakota - Bought it showroom new, and blew the motor 10,000 miles late. I beat this thing like it owed me money, and it did well with the abuse:

My old quad, it was an 04 Eiger, had alot of fun with it, and yes I should of had a helmet on, it was 7 years ago, and I have grown up since then:

And my current toy, a 07 Polaris Predator. All i can say is it is freaking fast:

Hope you enjoy the pictures. I will be taking alot more soon, plus putting together a little update on my Jeep additions.
