Jeep newbie

Good day to all! As the title suggests I'm new to the Jeep world. Just picked up a 2004 LJ 104K miles Fri evening! I'm not new to the mechanic and 4x4 world but this is my first post ever on any forum so bear with me. Let me know if this is in the wrong place. I'd rather be elbow deep in grease! The LJ has a 4.0 and 42RE with 3.73 gears in it if I understand correctly. Got to drive it 2.5hrs home and already wishing for taller gears. Not real sure how low I can go with the Dana 30 up front I've read different things. 4.88?? Just glad it has the Dana 44 out back! Thanks to all I've already gained a wealth of knowledge from this forum before I signed up!

Welcome to Wrangler Forum! On a side note, no one has said it yet, but it may be better to hit up the respective LJ (or look under TJ) forums for the answer to your questions. Might already be answered, but may have to ask it and more likely to get an answer there. All the best!
