Jeep Wrangler- my dream car

[BThere is no other car or truck i have pined for more than a wrangler. Ever since Mork and Mindy & MASH has my love for the crude go anywhere 4x4 convertible wrangler has grown.
Back ground on me- I drive a 2008 Nissan Rogue with 140,000 miles on it. It's ok but starting to run me maintenance costs. I've moved so my commute is only 23 miles to work.
Here's the deal- This year alone- My best friend died at 38 of pancreatic cancer, I got divorced sold the house, moved her & kids in house, rented myself a nice modest apt. My mother has terminal cancer and wont make it to June.

I'm a teacher who is not rich. I'm not having a midlife crisis or anything like that I figure life can change or end in a moment and this is the one thing I truly have always wanted. I plan to take my kids to the beach this summer with the top down, sun shining, music blaring.

I'm interested in a 2 door (automatic cause I have MS) Jeep Wrangler X soft top with convenience package in army green. ][/B]

I'm looking for any advice. hard top vs. soft, 2 door vs, 4 door, new vers used, ANY ADVICE would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great information and mostly good people here. The types of questions you ask are ones that will attract answers with 50/50 splits and lead to long, protracted battles here.

Jeeps are as unique as their owners and that is what makes them special. My advice to you is to not rush into any purchase and do lots of research. I'd start by lurking on this site for about a month. You'd be surprised with the things you pick up. Then, once you have a better idea of what you want to purchase people will be able to answer some more specific questions for you.

As a side note, I was riding in my Jeep yesterday with the top down, doors off and radio on and all of my troubles melted away for that period of time that I was driving the Jeep. It is some of the best therapy I have experienced in my life.
