looking at getting a 04, help talk me into it

so i've been looking at getting a jeep, not sure why, but they look like a real fun vehicle. im talking to a guy that has a 04 with a 4.0 5speed with 60k on it and am looking to trade my 08 saturn astra with 55k on it for it. the jeep has a 3" suspension lift and a 3" body lift and has brand new 33" on it. this would be my DD so i just want to here what you guys think. KBB says its worth about 13K, is that about right?
heres a pic of it:

I would pass. based onthe 3" body lift. That's too tall for a body lift, and at that height all the lines get maxed out. Keep looking.

also look for one with the dana 44 rear axle, has a metal square fill plug in the diff cover, vs the weak dana 35 rear axle with a round plastic fill plug.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. I'd hold off for something with less body lift. Depending on winters in your area, i'd also look for a hard top w/full doors. It's relatively cheap to add a soft top later, but aftermarket hard tops are rare and expensive.

Jeeps are crazy fun, but don't jump into it too soon and buy something you may regret later.

Yes you can remove the BL, although it can be a pain. if it was done right, its a pain to undo all the stuff that is changed. if it was done wrong, it is even more of a pain. I would look for a stocker, then do all the modding yourself, IMO

Welcome to the Forum

As stated above, I would pass. That Jeep is not going to make a good daily driver specially if you have a long commute. Again, I would look for one a little closer to stock and build it the way you want it. Jeeps this heavily modified have usually seen some abuse.

What i did was price them to death.Added all the modes up i wanted.Great info here! Read about suspensions etc.(if you wanted a lift?) I found one with a lot of modes for below trade in value.A lot of people here say get the heavy rears yes that's beautiful if you ABSOLUTLY need them? Be patient but the good deals will go quick.
