Lost in the wilderness for 7 years...

I spent 18 years tooling around in my 85 CJ7 and without giving it enough thought, I left Jeep behind for the comfort of a fairly capable SUV (name withheld to protect the innocent), was looking at long road trips. Austin to Red Lodge MT, Lee's Ferry AZ, Bristol TN.

Just traded that one in for a 2011 Rubicon Unlimited. I'm back.

Just added a Kargo Master rack to support my kayaks and bikes. We are ready to roll.

We see how it fairs on the Austin-St. Louis-Bristol-New Orleans-Austin loop this summer. If you happen to be in any of those areas, I'm looking for a little local knowledge.

It was tough, I drive past my old CJ twice a day. I had to just think about rebuilding clutch cylinders and leaky valve covers. The AMC years made mechanics out of all of us.
