Lurking for a Wrangler-many ????'s

Hey all,

Just into the first phases of my research on what model and set up I want-great info on here! I'd be doing mostly rock crawling and slower paced trails in So Cal and I get out about once a month. While I would love to have a dedicated wheeling rig, this will be my daily driver. That said, I want it to be more than capable on the roughest of trails.

What I know I want so far is 35's with a 3.5" - 4.5" lift and at least a rear locker. That said, if I went with the Rubi and the 4:1 transfer case, it is safe to assume I could do the 35's without having to re-gear and maintain a good crawl ratio for rocks?

Cuz if not, it sure seems the cost of bringing the Sport to that capability and matching the front axle would be close if not more than the incremental cost on the Rubi. I've installed lifts before so I could deal with the basic labor.

I've read a few of the Sport vs Rubi threads as well but I'm more spun around now than before

I appreciate any input and suggestions.

I would go rubi for sure. The ideal daily driver gear to tire ratio is 35s with the 4:10s. I would stay with the TJs unless you go with a brand new 2013 rubi it that's big bucks.

I'd recommend a Rubi.
