NC beach bum checking in! Shibby!

Hey everybody!

Finally got a wrangler, took me 8 years, but, hey, better late then never! Anyway, little bit about me. My name is Joey and I've lived up and down the east coast, ranging from new york to florida. Now Im living in the Sneads Ferry, just about 30 mins north of Wilmington. Love the coastline, don't think I can ever leave it!

So now for my wrangler and my plans for it! 2002 SE Dark blue, with tan soft top and interior, all stock approx 95k. Plans for now are possibly 4" suspension and 3" body lift put on 33" mud road hybrid tires, and possible over the top rack. Any and all suggestions or critics welcome! Looking forward to being an active member of the community!

Thanks, Joey!

Well, unstableness and it looks horrible IMO. Do some searches on here of it and you will find some other facts about it.

Do you ever drive ON the beach? Is it all it's cracked up to be? For some reason it seems like it would be boring, how rude right? lol. aside... we'd love to see your jeep! do you have any pics?

Welcome! I'm in Wilmington and out on carolina beach just about every weekend, as well as up in sneads ferry pretty often too Have to keep an eye out for you!
x3 on the body lift, I've got 4" in susp and 1.5 in body with my 33s and it's just about perfect (for me)
andreafahy, in all honesty, driving on the beach isn't the most exciting 4 wheeling experience...sand sand and more sand, gets super hot during the summer and the cops keep you from doing anything remotely fun, like dounuts However, if you're going to the beach, really can't beat parking your towel 5 feet away from where you park your jeep!

Carolina Beach is about 45 min down the rd (Wilmington) you can drive out on the North end or the South End. North End is called Freeman Park (county owned) have to get a pass, day passes are $20 or $100 for the year, generally pretty packed during the weekends and more of a party beach. The south end is a NC State Park, gotta have a pass, again..$20 for day, not sure if they do a year pass, no camping during summer season, no drinking, and some other rules as well
North end is always fun, try to camp out whenever possible and always out there on sat or sun!

Hey jg, if you live on topsail, just drive to the way north end of the island and you can drive out there for free. Havnt been out there myself, but my buddy in his silverado has. Lol only thing is he says ricers like to try to drive there matchbox cars and get stuck in the soft sand =P
