Here I am.

Just looking around. Considering selling my F150 and getting a Jeep. Never owned one before so feel free to tell me I'm crazy to think of using a Jeep as a daily driver on a 80 mile/day round trip to work. That is what I am here to find out.

Welcome To The Forum

The gas mileage isn't great, the rides a little rough and it is absolutely the most fun you'll ever have getting to work.

Gas is about the only concern. Prices don't appear to be going down and unless something changes at work the drive won't be getting shorter. Doing lots of reading and it seems like I can expect anywhere from 12 to 20 depending on tire size and gear ratio. I am currently getting 18 in the P/U so anything within a mile or two of that is fine.

Leaning towards a 6 banger since I am giving up my P/U and trailer will take the place of the bed. Not sure I want to drag a trailer with a 4 banger.

Hi. I used my '05 Jeep as my primary commuter vehicle from Seattle to Portland and now have over 100K+ on it. It's been a great vehicle with very little issues. You pay for gas with any vehicle you buy so why not be driving the vehicle of your preference? Choose Jeep and you'll never look back.
