New and searching for a wrangler

Hello,
My name is Kiley, I finally am going to buy the vehicle that I've wanted since I was a kid. I do know how to work on engines, even though I've never worked on a wrangler or any Jeep for that matter. Anyway, I'm on here to research and learn more about Wranglers. Any advice or info would be most welcomed. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum! A great repository of info and opinions!

My advise is to figure out how you want to use the Jeep first. Then go drive and kick the tires of a few. You'll find some very passonate folks around here when it comes to their particular model line!

I'm looking for a manual transmission, soft top, and pretty much nothing too extreme. I have vintage scooters and motorcycles, so I need to be able to pull a trailer, and would like to have the ability to go off road w/out too much worries of getting stuck. I know how to work on bikes and a little about cars, so I think I can learn quickly about my future wrangler. I so know that I don't want to have to be working all the time on it, I need it to be relieable to go on long trips pulling the bikes and not break down all the time on me. I know how to do body work and paint, so not too worried about the paint job, besides I'll be painting it anyway, I just don't want the body rusted out. So I'm not too sure excatly which model of a wrangler I need.
