Whats up, jeep people. My name is Gabe and I'm posting up for the first time here (obviously). Never owned a jeep before, but I've been wheeling for years. Mostly in old Toys, as I needed a truck that could haul construction materials during the week. But now, I'm no longer in that business, and the wife has an excellent family car, so I finally got my TJ. I've loved old Jeeps for a long time, and I would have probably gotten an old flatty if I didn't have a 3 year old. The TJ to me has always, since it came out, been the best combination of old school styling and modern tech. My buddy, whos a YJ guy, woud disagree. So would many CJ guys, but all in good fun. Thats what I like about this sport, if you'd call it that. It's like marriage, everyone's devoted to their particular rides, but can perhaps see the appeal in what the other guy's got Anyways, like I said, I've been aroud knobby tires since I can remember, so you won't get any super dumb questions from me, but plenty of Jeep tech questions, as I'm going to grow this little TJ into an awesome rig. About the Jeep: just a little 4-banger, was a third vehicle for a family so it didn't get used much. But it's cherry and unabused, which is what I wanted. I like to do my own thing from a fresh canvas, so to speak. Got the 4 cyl cause I remember my friends YJ, with proper gears, being pretty peppy. I can't say I'm dissapointed with the power around town, or on the trail, but I can definately see why the 6-cyl guys critisise(sp?) them on the freeway. But it will make a great trail rig. Personally, I'm fine with this thing topping out @ 60 when it's done... Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. Look forward to all the advice and I'll see y'all in the tech section!
