Hey everyone, Just checking in and figured I'd take a moment to introduce myself and tell ya about my intentions with my TJ. I bought a 2006 TJ about a year ago (technically it's my wife's but don't tell her that). It's a 4.0 with a 6 speed. No rubicon or anything fancy. I had a 82 CJ7 with a Chevy 350, muncie 4 speed and 4 inch lift as my first car. I've wanted another Jeep ever since. I'm a biologist (more specifically a Herpetologist, that means I study snakes). My work takes me all over the country collecting specimens for my research. Most often I drive my own vehicle rather than fly and rent a car. I'm trying to build my Jeep to suit these purposes. In addition to driving around the country to study sites much of collecting snakes involves road cruising. This means I travel roads at dusk searching for snakes that cross the roads and either get hit or are encountered live. I only need DNA so I don't care if they are alive or not. So, one concern is that the Jeep handles well on the road, is comfortable over long trips and gets relatively decent gas milage. In addition, I need it to be able to traverse flooded roads and washed out mountain trails and desert roads to reach remote sites. So far I have only added a Shrockworks bully bar. My intentions are to replace the stock headlights, add KC Daylighter Fog lights on the bumper, and KC Daylighter Long Range lights above the windshield. I hope to add a winch soon. I would like to lift it 3.5 inches and replace the stock wheels and tires with 31 or 32 inch all terrains. Eventually, I would like to add a rear bumper with a tire carrier and hijack carrier and some type of body armor along the rocker panels. I would like to add a retractable roof rack with a basket to carry supplies. I'm also looking into any mods I can add to improve gas milage including intakes and chips. I hope to get some reviews on products and input from the other members so will be posting with questions as I plan to buy each part. Look forward to talking to everyone. By the way my name WIP means Work In Progress
