New from cali desert

Hey guys. I'm a long time mustang owner new to jeeps located in the Mojave desert. Just picked up a white YJ before I deployed and I'm just now startin to tinker with it. It's an 89 2.5 with just over 38k in the clock, spring over kit with 33's. I'm still trying to find out everything that's been done to it, I'm not too savvy as of yet. Picked it up for $2k. Seller knew something was wrong with the rear end and said he couldn't get the motor running right. Well, knowing nothing about 4x4 suspension I went to town on the motor, air filter, plugs, wires, cap/rotor, oil/coolant/tranny change, fuel filter, and today I spent about 6 hours doing some wire tuck and tryin to find vacuum leaks. Pretty much got frustrated and did an EGR and PCV delete, and replaced everything else on the driver side. The passenger side is a lost cause for me, all that evap nonsense scares me lol. Still a few leaks over there I've got to get plugged up though. After that, its all up to you guys to help lol, I'll have some videos up soon of whats goin on with the rear end. Anyways, end rant. lol Here she is. . .

CHeck out the carrier bearings in the rear end. I know my mother's went bad and it would make a hum in 3rd gear. Welcome though.

It's definitely not a hum lol, more like a loud crack/pop/grind and the entire car lunges. Being fairly mechanically inclined, I imagine it being a gear with a stripped tooth or something of the sort. It's too late tonight, but tomorrow I'm going to take a few videos to show everybody exactly what I mean.
