New From Fishkill, NY

Hey all,

I want to begin with this; I do not yet own a Jeep but will someday. I have been an avid Mustang fan my whole life but have been very interested in the Jeep Cjs and Wranglers. I will be buying one someday but am still undecided as to which to get. I like the mid-late 70's to early 80's Cjs because of the V8 option. I also like the Wranglers as well. If I chose a Wrangler, are there big diferences in reliability between the years? Any opinion or recommendations which may help me decide? I do not intend on doing heavy off-road. Just love the convertible roof, prefer the half-doors and want to cruise.

Thanks,
Larry

Go with a TJ...1997-2006. You can find a clean, fairly priced TJ for less than 10k.
Get one with a 4.0 and the soft top w/half doors like you said. The overall comfort and handling is a little better than the older Jeeps, but not as new and expensive as the JK
(2007- present).
