New from NC

Just would like to say hi to everyone. I just bought a 1990 last week. Until now most of my time and money has been spent on my 2000 mustang. I know nothing about jeeps or carburetors, but look forward to learning. My favorite quote is "their are no stupid questions, just a lot of inquisitive idiots." I will probably be a inquisitive idiot for a while.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm still trying to figure out what the last owner had done. It appears that they have unhooked all the emissions system. No cat, the two tubes that come out of the air filter/carburetor cover on the passenger side are not connected to anything and the stepper motor was unplugged. When I start it takes a long time to warm up, smells really rich and knocking when the RPM's drop under load. Had to replace the alternator Friday, but outside of that I love it. I think I'm going to start with a carburetor rebuild and I've read some on the nutter bypass but I'm not sure. Any advice is more than welcome. Thanks!
