New girl from Illinois

I've wanted a Jeep since i was 12 and I finally bought one! It's an 89 wrangler sahara with a 6 inch lift and 35 in tires. I absolutely love it. anybody know some great off roading trails in northern Illinois?

Howdy. I'm from Northern IL myself. VERY few places to wheel around here (that are legal) .

I'm heading to the Cliff's this weekend. There is also the Badlands in IN but it's a little bit of a drive. The Cliff's is not all the far from me (Roselle). About an hour and a half away. Where are you located???

From one Jeep gal to another -

One way to find areas to ride is to search for clubs in your neck of the woods.
They'll know the best places to go and will also give you someone to wheel with.
Here's one SIJA and I'll bet that if you Google "Illinois Jeep Club" you might find more.

Have fun and tread lightly!

I know right, nothing but corn fields he in Dixon. Wish there were big hills and rock areas somewhere close. Cliffs is about 1 1/2 hours away so not too bad.

Thank you Guys! I'm in the south suburbs of chicago. I don't think the jeep will be ready by march 5th. I wish. I'm just doin some regular maintenance on it right now & thinking about putting another trans in. Maybe you guys can answer my first question: where is the drain plug on my Trans? I have another trans in the garage & the plug on that 1 was easy enough but the one the jeep I can't seem to find.

AX-15...

For the BA-10....

They changed from the BA-10 to the AX-15 trans mid year in 89...so you'll have to figure which one you have.

Thank You! That was actually really helpful. Yeah its the ax-15. That's where we thought it was we just didnt want to start taking things apart. Mines much dirtier lol. I just finished a tune up, replaced a ujoint, did an oil change, & now gonna drain the trans to put new gear oil in.
