New Guy from RI

Hi, New Guy from New England. Thinking hard about getting a 2012 Wrangler Sahara. Long time Harley rider who just decided it was time to hang it up. ( could not take the 16 years olds texting on the road). Just lost the fun of it.

Thinking Jeep is still a way to keep me in the wind. Currently drive a 2010 Chevy Silverado 4x4 ( thinking of trade or sell). Looking to get a Sahara Unlimited, Natural Green (If I can find one) or the new Black Forest Green (have not seen it), Dark Cherry red, or just black if all else fails. Must have's are dual tops, heated seat, Max tow pkg, and auto trans.

Already learned a lot from this site and lots of thanks, any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum

I completely understand your thought process there. I owned a HD when living in Florida and sold it when I moved to Ga (these people are crazy even when not texting). I really missed that feeling until I bought my Wrangler. It's the closest thing there is to 2-wheeling and no helmet required.

Smile welcome from a fellow newbie in CT

I just bought my 2011 JK Unlimited Sport S from a dealer in North Kingstown (won't mention name you can look it up).

I chose the 11 because of the great financing (check I originally liked the Sahara then the price (ie. wife) got the best of me. As far as the dual top thing, my came with hardtop. I negotiated my best price then purchased the soft top from dealer after closing deal. The same held true for the factory steps. Mine did not come with them...just purchased from dealer and rolled the prices into the total financed price of the jeep. This was all because I wanted a Flame Red/standard transmission so I kind of had to take what was available.

The steps installed in less than an hour, the top took me and my wife 4 hours to assemble and install. Bottom line, i couldn't get all of the things I wanted so I made it into what I wanted.

Good luck searching!! There are more auto trannys out there in RI,MA, and CT than standards in the 2011's. Go for it!!
