New Jeep owner question

I just purchased a 1998 Wrangler I4 (2-weeks ago) - love it!

Last night, I cleaned the engine compartment (wiped thing down with WD40), I did not hose it off with water (yet). This morning, the jeep still runs great but the CHECK ENGINE light is on...any suggestions?

You are going to have to pull the codes to find out what it is trying to tell you. Take it to Autozone and they will pull the codes for free. I don't believe that you can pull the codes yourself on a 98.

Oh, I almost forgot, Welcome to the Forum.

welcome to the forum... you could straight pipe it if you dont have emissions to deal with or cherry bomb it or something like that... all depends on how much you have to spend... post this up in the YJ section if you havent already and you will get some hits on what others have
