Hi everyone! Thank for having me as a member. I am just now getting into the Jeep game and after many years of hesitation, I recently decided to sell my turbo charged BMW engine and search for a jeep.

Anyone have any thoughts on the below as a first jeep? Or should i just get an older used 2D sport utility stock?

to the Forum..

What one buys, has a lot to do with what you are willing to spend. My suggestion is to take your time and find one that has not been modified. Then had a experienced Jeep Wrangler smart person look it over and inspect it for you.

Thanks for the advice. There is a 2010 2D Sport Unlimited that i found with only 50K miles that is not modded. They are asking 18000 for it and I thought that was a bit high with no modifications.

Nice rig!

Whether its worth it or not is up to you. Some places in the country that would be a good deal and some places, not so much.

As far as the modifications, at a quick glance you have quite a few:
Quote:
• AEV Premium Front Bumper
• AEV Suspension Skid Plate
• Warn 9.5ti Winch with Synthetic Line
• AEV Heat Reduction Hood
• RockHard Steel Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier and Hi-Lift Mount
• Dynatrac ProRock 44 Front Axle Assembly
• RCV Performance Front Axle Shafts (Rebuilt 8/2019)
• Reid Racing Heavy Duty Knuckles (with high steer)
• Teraflex Long Arm Lift Kit
• 3” Teraflex Lift Kit Springs
• SPC Performance Nitrogen JounceShocks in Front
• 37X12.50R17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 Tires
• Front Sportcage Support and Rear Overhead Bar from Rockhard 4X4
• FULL Underbelly Skid Plate System from Rockhard 4X4
• LED Headlights by Trucklite
• Hella Off-Road Lights on front bumper
• K&N Air Filter
• Optima yellow top Deep Cycle Battery
• Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Tailgate Cover
You may also want to post your question in the JK section since that is the model Wrangler you are looking at: https://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/

Good luck in your search, and in the mean time I'd like to say:

Welcome! Plain and simple, you shouldn't pay for mods you're just going to end up replacing. Find the best candidate that fits what you're looking for that makes you end up spending the least amount on stuff you're going to put in the trash. I basically couldn't find what I was looking for on mods so what I got was the type of jeep I wanted.. a 95 YJ with the 6 cylinder engine, with the full steel doors, AC, hard top. Now all I need is the half doors. Has a starter lift of 4" and 33" tires until I do other mods, but for the most part doesn't have anything I need to put in the trash... except the carpet when I get the interior rhinolined.
