New Jeeper from Paris France

Hello,

I discovered the Jeep "universe" at the age of 15 in a ranch in Texas. The Jeep was a very old green Jeep Willis, but certainly the best car to discover the ranch territory in August! It was like driving a kart in the fields! What a great experience without a driving license.

40 years later, after owning 50 cars and a long one year search, I finally purchased a Wrangler JKU Sahara V6 3.6L of 2017, Mojave Sand. This color is quite unusual over here as it was not in the official French catalogue. The previous owner apparently had to make a special order to get it... It comes with some goodies that I certainly would have bought: rubber mats, led front light, recline rear seats pads, pedal box, handles, rear trailer hook, hard top roof insulation... and 75th anniversary hood!

The idea with this acquisition is to drive it to discover Europe (and more if possible...) together with my lovely wife. The goal is to equip it later with a Gazell roof/body extension to travel autonomously. Still a... project as the price of this product over here is rather expensive... We will see.

I am a professional photographer in Paris, mostly doing managers portraits. We are going very soon to the French Alpes to "feel" (I hope...) the Jeep experience!

I hope to find among you some support and will do my best to help others if & when possible.

I attach some very bad pictures of the Jeep in the darkness of my Parisian garage (just got the car a few days ago!). But I will soon provide you with more acceptable ones ! OK, I am definitively not a car photographer...

A tres bientot.

Thanks for your messages. The Wrangler is rather "stock" and might stay so as my garage's height is not that high. I only have about 3 to 4 inches clerance

Sorry I pressed the wrong button too fast.
... 3 to 4 inches clearance due to very low neon lights and water sprinklers. You also have to know that, although many are modifying their Jeeps, it is forbidden in France to change the manufacturer's specifications. In case of an accident your insurer will not cover you! Installing a winch is also forbidden... So many restrictive laws we have over here, not mentioning driving into the "wild nature" areas! Anyway, driving a Wrangler is a real pleasure for me so far.

Here are some additional pictures of my Jeep Wrangler... I thought that the color was Mojave Sand from what the seller told me. However, on all official papers, it is clearly noted Gobi! Nobody's perfect...

I went to the Alps and drove it through some very rough paths which ended by piercing a tire... C'est la vie!!!! It made my day! And also realize that the wonderful Bridgestone Dueler stock tire, was probably not the best off-road "instrument".

However in Europe we do not have that a choice. For a tire allowing me to go on highways and off road (around 50/50), I have the choice, if I want to remain in R18, between a Cooper AT3 Sport and a BF Goodrich KO2. And they both are not cheap...
Anyway of my JEEP!!!!

Correct, in '17 and '18 it was Gobi.

Looking good, we love our Gobi too
