This is my new member intro. My name is Ken, I live in mid Michigan, the Bay City area. I am a retired PLC programmer.
I used to ride dirt bikes and ATVs but busted up my shoulder riding the Trans American Trail, so I sold them and got a Jeep.
First I have to say I can not spell, never could and never will. I am sorry for all the misspelled words I will use.
I have a 1989 Jeep YJ. I bought it last year for $3000.00 ( to much) and put another $3000.00 into it. It has a 3.5" spring lift and a 1" body lift, 33" tires, a 258 L6, and a manually shifted automatic with a B&M shifter. I welded a new floor in it and 1/8" rocker panels, had the trans rebuilt and put 3.73 gears in it with posi in the back. I made my own rear axle truss. My son gave me a 9,500 lb Warn wench that I put on the front. Thanks son! He works for Warn and said he could not stand to see me put another cheaper brand on it.
My wife and I are signed up for the Drummond Island Jeep Jamboree. Maybe we will see you there. We will have the red Wrangler.
We may also go to the Tennessee Jamboree.
I may be interested in joining a local Jeep club if there are any, or just getting together with someone to go trail riding. Let me know.
