A quick intro post.

I just picked up a 2011 Wrangler Sport - two door, only the soft top, 6 speed, no options. Black on Black. I know it's the slightly less desirable 3.8 L V6, but the price was right ($15 k CND) - and for what I'm hoping to do with it, I think it'll be awesome.

It's been a pretty hot spring here, and the top has been off essentially since I bought it. With mild winters, I'm actually thinking the windows may never go back in. Open-air driving is an amazing feeling - and I'm planning on doing as much of it as possible.

I probably won't modify the Jeep too much. And probably not do much off-roading. My reason for going the Jeep route was really because it's the only vehicle that does everything I want. Haul my dive gear, get me to trail heads (I'm pretty big into trail running and hiking), and allow me to easily strap two paddle boards or surf boards to the top while still letting me seat four people (kid coming in August!), and take the top off.

Anyway - looking forward to taking part in the community - it's amazing how tight knit the Jeep community is - already getting into the habit of waving and fellow Wrangler drivers.

Thanks!

It's unlike anything else I've ever owned - though my parent's did drive an '89 4Runner for a number of years.

Interestingly - the experience of driving it feels... almost... like my old Miata. only taller and with entirely different driving dynamics. But the sense of pure fun, minimalistic approach to driving and design, and community are all there. This is, of course, more practical.
