New NC Jeep Owner

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Just got my first jeep about 6 weeks ago, a brand new 2011 Wrangler Sport . I love it and all the fun that comes a long with it. I have already put close to 3K miles on it as of yet.
Im sure this is a common question....but when I leave the hard top at home and get caught in a rain storm, is there something really nifty that i can buy and have ready to cover the car in such an emergency? I leave a regular blue tarp in my car at all times in case of rain..but is there anything better that can act as a top and still allow me to drive home?

Welcome! Blue trap works for me, but you can get a Bestop trail cover. What part of NC are you located in? Check out CAROLINAOFFROADFORUM.COM when you can!

I can only please one person a day and today is not your day and tomorrow is not looking good either!

Welcome to the Forum

The trail cover is great but you can't drive with it on. Someone makes an "emergency top" that you can drive with at lower speeds.

I use the Bestop Trail cover over night while I am at work. I have a soft top that I keep down and Bestop soft doors also. I keep them bungeed to the top of my extendatrunk(Bestop) in case I get caught needing to drive while raining. And if all else fails and I actually get caught in the rain I have Bestop seat covers that are waterproof Hey Geoff does that qualify me for a Bestop hat?

Seriously, I do use all of these products. I have had my top up only one day since the middle of April. If you don't have a soft top at least get a bikini top to keep the downpour from hitting your dash/electronics. Most of the time having a bikini top and a good trail cover will get you through without a total soaking. The water tends to blow over and around.

If you are interested in a Uwharrie trip let me or Chris (blkrubi88) know.
