Cool New New Hampshire owner

Greetings all!

Been wanting a Jeep for years so recently I bought a '97 sport. Very happy with it. I'm not planning anything radical with it as, for now, it is my primary mode of transportation. Mostly it will be cosmetic, functional and some performance.

I've been driving a Grand Marquis for the last 6 or so years, so this is a bit of a switch for me. But honestly when I put the top down and cruise around getting the wave from other Jeep owners (which incidentally amuses my wife to no end, she thinks I've joined a secret society) I don't miss the luxury one bit.

The only thing I miss... is the automatic lights. I haven't touched a car light switch in years. I've forgotten once or twice to turn the Jeeps lights off. I'll get used to it eventually.

So I look forward to reading advice and comments from other Wrangler owners. Feel free to drop me a line if your in the NE area or even if your not.

At the moment tagless because I'm too lazy to work on one right now.

I know what you mean about missing some of the luxury features. I went from an 07 Acura TL (automatic HID headlights, bluetooth, climate control, heated leather seats, XM radio, etc) to an 06 Wrangler X. Believe it or not, I like the Wrangler better. Especially when the top is down.

Welcome from NC. I gave up a loaded Suburban to go to my 98. Not only did I lose some things I had become accustomed to, I also lost about 8-9 feet of vehicle. Now you have to force me to drive the Burb. We had rain from TS Fay over the last 2 days causing me to put the doors/top back on.

Welcome, John, to the best Jeep Wrangler forum ever created by any human! Glad to have you along for the ride! Speaking of lights, when you go driving with the doors off, the interior lights don't go off. Check out Quadratec or 4Wheel Drive Hardware for the $10 clip-on "fix." Works great. Again, welcome!

Nothing special; No impressive mods; Never going to let it go. No se preocupe. Todo esta muy bien con Dios. (I Corinthians 4:8-9)
