New SoCal owner!

Hey all,
Just got a 2015 JKU Sahara not even 2 weeks ago and I am so in love with it.
Wanted to officially introduce myself. I reside in Los Angeles so there is amazing off-roading in my backyard.

I have a few questions:

1)What does anyone recommend to a newbie like me who has never done any sort of off-roading to do first to get my feet wet. Also if any SoCal peeps can give me suggestions on where to go?

2) What is a good first mod to purchase for the Jeep. Is there something that everyone does that is sort of mandatory? I realize my factory speakers are absolute garbage so I'm thinking of upgrading those first.

Any suggestions or tips are welcomed and thank you in advance!

Mario

Mario, this is where we welcome new members so you likely won't get many answers.
I suggest you browse the JK specific forums for answers.

In the meantime........Welcome Aboard!

mild trail riding close to L.A. can be found in Hungry Valley SVRA in Gorman

That depends entirely on your preferences. As SilverSport recommended, you should read the JK subforums for ideas.

As mentioned, because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

Also, thanks UnlimitedRubicon for the suggestion.

If you plan to go on trail rides with others, I would recommend a CB radio as a first mod. It's not a big outlay of cash, and it's fun! Once you get out on the trails, you'll see what mods others have done that you like and some you don't care for and you'll get a feel of what your Jeep needs.

Check out the communications section...

Browse around for some good set up and show offs for the looks. Definitely you need some better tires and possibly lift for comfort. Plenty of discussions and tips around, enjoy!
