New to forum - deciding on right Wrangler

Hi all. I just joined this forum after spending the past day or so reading about about the 2011-12 JK Ultimate. I am deciding on replacing my Nissan Frontier with something a little more fun. I used to drive a Wrangler 10 years ago or so and loved the experience. It just didn't make a good all around car for me.

In looking for my new toy (used mainly for weekends), I am probably leaning towards a 6-speed manual in either the Rubicon or Sahara trim. Given the pending arrivals of the 12's, it seems that dealers are making pretty good deals on the 11's in stock. Need to decide if I should just order a 12 or pick up a leftover 11.

A quick initial question for you all: Does the sahara do fairly well for moderate rock/trail use in the Rocky Mountains (CO) or would I be better off getting the Rubicon from the start.

Thanks,
Rich

Welcome to the Forum
Personally, I would go with the Rubicon (I wish that I had), but the Sahara is very capable of performing on the trail.

Thanks everyone. Now the waiting begins as I want to see firsthand the difference between the 11 and 12's.

Welcome to the Forum!

I would wait. The 2012 mod. year will have an upgraded engine and auto. trans. change. What I have read it will be worth the wait.
I am also looking to get a new Wrangler, pref: 2012 Rubicon unlimited to have for my move to Colorado San Juans in near future.
Good luck on your choice.
