Cool New to forum hello w/ SoCal Ambitions!

Hello! I just moved to Los Angeles in March from NYC. My dream was to get a Harley as my gas powered vehicle, since they are necessary in these parts for getting around. But after two seperate Hells Angels said they even wouldn’t ride anymore bc of the texting-driving epidemic, I sadly put that dream to bed. I hate cars, but decided a no frills Jeep Wrangler with a solid engine and good bones would be the next best thing to a hog, heck maybe even better Plus I’ve always wanted one.

My very first car was my mother’s hand me down 1993 chrystler minivan V6, and tho in 2000 I was embarassed by it at first, I was able to drive weekly up and down the Sierras, occasionally off roading in the mountains and on multiple road trips the length of California and Oregon. Out of vanity i traded it with a family member in 2007 for a sporty v4 piece o junk car before moving to NYC in 2008. What a mistake. My high school friends still talk about how awesome that minivan was driving around Tahoe. So all you 2008 wrangler fans I got yo’ back! Minivan engine pride and love all the way!

That said, after talking to mechanics and reading this forum, I want that inline 6 cylinder! I want Manual transmition, under 100k miles, and I want a healty TJ that will ride me into the driverless future guns a blazin’!!

I’m still shopping, I have options and bank pre approval. I need a vehicle soon tho, for around town and California adventuring. I wont settle for less than a Wrangler.

I want to be one of those drivers pushing 300k on my just-wont-quit engine. I want something that when the day comes, be rebuilt and last at least a decade or two. And I want to give and get advice as I go. Excited to be a part of this amazing community!

First EVER vehicle purchase
Future TJ i6 year tbd but who knows maybe I’ll “settle” for a sexy JK
