New to Jeep from AZ

Hey all,

I am new to the Jeep world and the forum (as stated in the title). I just bought my first jeep yesterday, 2015 JKU sport s. Options added to the jeep included 5-Speed auto trans, 3.73's front and rear, Tru-Lock rear diff, connectivity group. I am going to get some seat covers ASAP as my kids feet tend to always rub the back of the drives/passenger front seats. Probably floor mats next, and then just enjoy the jeep for a while before diving into a lift kit and tires/wheels. For the time being i believe that this will get me out in the good old AZ desert to camp, hunt, fish and cruze. I look forward to talking with all of you.

~Joe

Joe,

Welcome to the forum. If you are new to 4WD then you might want to look at this guy's site What to do in Az - Experience AZ 4WD Adventures Besides four-wheel'n he has hiking and biking pages too. He's from Tucson, so most of his trails are from east phoenix and then down south from there. As you are new to this, you will probably want to stay with 1 to 2.5 grade trails (Easy to medium/easy) until you are rebuilt and/or don't care about your paint job.

Here is another AZ specific off-road site http://azoffroading.com/arizona-trails/

By the way, my TJ is fairly stock so I run these trails too. If you want a .gpx file for any of these trails, just PM me and I'll send it over. I also have .kml for half of them for looking at them in Google Earth.

Happy Trails,
Bob

PS. Forgot to mention - If you haven't already done so, go here:http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/ Good folks and they do go on the easy or medium runs sometimes.

Thanks Bob this will be very helpful. I will be using some of the northern trail as it heats up in the valley that i live in. Its a good excuse to get out of the city and rip the electronics out of my kids hands for a day.
