New to Jeeps Checking in...maybe

You might not get many crazy rambling posts like this? so I hope it entertains if nothing else. First I will say that I am 'looking' at a 2008 JK Wrangler sport in a nice shade of green.....Well loved one owner car, circa 80,000miles (equiv) only thing wrong that I can find is that the paint has rubbed on the (I call it the 'kick' panel) on the drivers side below the door, looks like the guy wears leather soled shoes. The car will mostly be driven by my wife who will have no 'issues' with driving a more truck like vehicle..I will explain why really it does get very interesting!! myself, ex British Army served in a fair amount of countries but the nearest I have been to the home continent of the Jeep is Belize and Goose Bay both for short intervals, in Belize all I saw was jungle and in Goose Bay ..yep...Snow and ice! I learned to off-road as an 11 year old in a diesel Series 2 Landrover and various ancient Fordson tractors. During my military service I learned to like big trucks, but realised it is much better when 'Her Majesty' is paying for the diesel/gasoline... I have owned many Landrovers and still manage to keep as a pet a very nice low mileage Unimog U1300L...has about the equivalent of 25,000 american miles and has had a complete re-build in the 90,s by those good old neighbourhood Bundeswehr workshops. I also keep a nice Pinzgauer 710K diesel and my wife drives an UAZ 469b diesel (you may have to google it?) see I told you, she can drive off roaders with no comforts. So will we be happy with the addition of this Wrangler? or will we wish we held out for a nice G Wagen. Additional: we do live out in the hills, we do off road to go shopping, and it can be -30 and deep snow for weeks on end the heater good in a 2008 Wrangler???? All my vehicles are garaged in winter....they do not have to live outside in the snow. Oh and I forgot, this is Europe so the Jeep is a 2.8 CRD?? is that a problem?

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.
