New to the forum

hello everyone my name is Steve just joined up to forum , Glad to be with some fellow jeepsters!!!
I have a question for any one that has a reply to help me out ??
My local dealership tells me I need a new clutch in a 2011 JK 4-door 3.8
6 speed manual with 60,000.
I have had no problem with my clutch slipping in any way , even when pulling my boat.
I do have a problem when shifting though. As long as I get my RPM up high it shift's better but still feels like it has a little catch to it , not real smooth. Is this normal? or Is this because of my clutch going out?
I always thought a bad clutch slips !!
any reply's will help me in determining on spending a $1000 on something for nothing.
