New to TJs, Jeeps, & WF

Hello everyone! After years of wanting and months of searching, last weekend I got myself a '98 TJ with 104k on the clock. I read several forums and decided that WF would be a good first place to join due to the friendly patrons and Wrangler-specific topics.

A little about me: I'm 26, live & work in Boulder Colorado, and I'm an electrical engineer by profession. I enjoy working on anything that burns gas and/or oil. I got my start in the school of busted knuckles in college (Georgia Tech) when I blew the head gasket on my '88 XR4Ti. Armed with a shop manual and a socket set, I managed to turn a perfectly good Thanksgiving weekend into a sort-of working car. Lucky for me the XR has a small but dedicated following of (crazed) collectors, so I sold it for 900 bucks a few months later.

Needless to say, I'm glad now to wrench on a vehicle where the engine bay is the size of a small apartment and I don't need the jaws of life to get to the spark plugs (except for that front one, dang A/C compressor is in the way).

What say OM. N1AS here. Nice to see another ham on the list, and a young one at that! (hi hi)

My current Jeep is a 2008 Unlimited X. A bit newer (and more costly) than yours, but then again, I'm 50 so I can afford bigger toys! It is compensation for old age :-)

Anyway, just saying hi!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

N1AS, you're 59. The first add-on to the truck will be a big 2/6m mobile so I can talk to the geezers on the repeaters!
