New YJ owner

I recently purchased a Red 1990 YJ as a project. There were many problems and knowing that it forced me to get it and fix it up. I knew the dealer neglected the jeep, I could hear it as I drove. So far many of the issues were electrical, i.e. fuses missing, plugs not connected, dusty and dirty connections.

The frame, body and everything else are in excellent condition, the engine strong and the tranny smooth for a 20 year old jeep. Of course let's not mention that this is all on 90kmiles!!! 20 years old 90K miles, excellent condition, no underbody/frame scratches/rust etc. wow!

I took if off their hand and have made serious improvements: Throwing a deck cover, windjammer, bikini top, adding new mirrors, replacing all fuses, replacing metal hooks, seat brackets, sliders, new mud terrains 31", throwing in a center console, installing speakers and radio, all fluids flushed, filters replaced, and engine bay cleaned up. Of course it's a jeep but needed to make sure everything else is good. The only issue that I see is the clutch fluid is leaking but I hear YJ's are notorius for this. This will be replaced shortly. I had to flush the engine and change the oil 2x. Sucks, apparently it was sitting for 6 years with nothing.

After all this was accomplished this jeep rumbles and drives like a tank! Drivng with tunes, down the road with my dog in the tub, no seat of course crusing the beaches and highways, off roading, I am more than happy with the project so far! Of course a little bit of money was put into reviving the jeep back up but it was worth every penny.

Future improvements/modifications, YJ soft uppers, replacing interior and guages, gaskets replaced, rhino lining tub, blackening out all the faded black, new bumpers. I am trying to keep it as classic looking as possible with some minor touches.

Pics are attached, tires aren't on yet as I just got them last week.

You saved the life of a YJ, and that makes you a hero, and it looks real nice.
