Newb from Tennessee

Hey WF!

I've been a non active member of WF for over a year. It's taken me that long to pick out and purchase my dream Jeep. I've grow so a custom to reading post I forgot to introduce myself and have been posting for the past few days.

My name is Jase, I live a little west of Knoxville, Tennessee. Married and have 3 boys. I teach High School Engineering. Hobbies- Hanging out at Church, First Robotics, Cub Master of a small pack of 40 boys, and being out doors.

My Jeeps name "Tiger Scout" comes from my middle son. He thinks it looks like a tiger. The Scout reference comes from the rank of Tiger Scout plus 30 something years of being part of Boy Scouts of America. -Eagle Scout 1990

In Short- Glad to be here!
Jase

Thanks Guys for the awesome welcome! Looks like there is a large number of you from the South East. I don't plan on doing any major off road trails in fact more than likely will spend a lot of time on the pavement. I know that's just wrong! ;-) However I'm for of a Four wheeler kind of guy.

The wife, kids and I plan this spring plan on running the Tail of the Dragon. Have you read any post about annual Jeep runs? Or soft core Jeep meets?

Thanks,
Jase

Welcome Jase. Grats on the JK. Looks sweet. Ton of trails to hit in the Knoxville area, so make sure to get friendly with some of them.

Give me the details on your wheel/tire setup there. What size lift is on your jeep also?

Honestly I bought it this way. It looks stock and rides rougher than a tank. I can't find any brand names on the shocks. I plan on replacing them with Fox Shocks in the distant future.

My best friend has a 3 1/2 lift and the same tire setup yet my rig is slightly taller. So I'm assuming that it has a 4 inch lift.

New Bumper and Winch

So here are some pics of the install.

I'm going to have to wait on doing the wiring. 26 degrees outside and 8 degrees tomorrow.

Final Product

On the previous post I had to trim the plastic cover behind the bumper. I had placed the bumper on and it looked Red Neck. I post some more pics of the finished product later. When the wiring is finished.

It's too stinking cold outside! Cleaned out an area and pulled the Tiger into my shop. Instructed a lesson over power distribution and how relays work. Then worked with my 2nd year engineering students on wiring up the LED lights on the bumper.

Next week I'm lanning on having them CAD a wiring diagram for a new power distribution block and do a design proposal for installing 3 light bars.
It was cool to see them use what we've been studying.
