Newbee from Washington State

Hello all. I am just checking in and saying howdy to all. I am hoping to learn from all to keep my '79 CJ and '97 TJ on the trail. Hope I can contribute also.

A little bit about myself. I am a retired Fire Dept. Battalion Chief. I retired a few years ago and now I can spend my time time doing the thing that I want to do.

My first task is to research threads on my '79 CJ5 and find out why I am over heating with a dual fan and shroud set up I had installed. I have a freshly rebuit 304 with a RV cam for torque. I also have an Edlebrock carb and intake manifold setup. The problem I am having with this set up is the temperature gradually climbs past the middle of the stock gauge and then starts to run as if it only has four cyclinders and misses terribly. I did install a 1" spacer plare between the carb and intake manifold. All componenents are new in the last two years. i.e. radiator, heatercore, water pump, thermostat etc.

Glad to be aboard and wish me luck please.
