Newbie as of 12/31/14

Happy New Year! I am a new owner as of yesterday. I am fairly new to the Jeep world but have been envious of them for as long as I can remember. My first vehicle, that I learned to drive in, was a 72 (I think) blue and white Bronco. I ended up with a pickup because my mom didn't want me in the short-wheel base Bronco. I have since had two Explorers and for the last almost 13 years a Sienna on which I put 139,794 miles until I traded it in yesterday. Apparently it was 'time' because those who know I got my Wrangler said "it's about time!" I will actually miss my van (I didn't keep because I am not a mechanic and it was going to end up needing more repairs soon) because it was roomy, comfortable and familiar. I will NOT miss the low clearance.

I got a Billet Silver Sahara with the body color top. I will drive mostly city driving but I hope to join my little sister on some back road excursions. Sis and her family go mudding every month but I might wait in mudding until I feel like I have broken her in. (Haven't named her yet.) other than mainly city driving and possibly joining sis, I work in construction and will be so glad when I don't have to get in someone else's vehicle to drive a site. A recent dam project had me nervous about getting on and off the site.

I am a true newbie and haven't even had time to figure out the abbreviations. One of my best friends has a Willys edition she got earlier this year. Thankfully she has taught me a few things.

Can't wait to learn more and break this girl in. Nap my first car to but by myself. (Though she seems to have a bit of a vibration at 55-65 mph at least -haven't taken her higher speed yet- I thought it was because the tires needed to be inflated a bit and I didn't consider that it could be wheel issues of some sort. I will go get the salesman today if the cold rain clears up a bit and see if he senses the same thing. If he doesn't I may have to make them switch it out. It can't be right. I didn't experience it with others I test drove.)

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new ride. I just picked up my first jeep a couple of weeks ago, '12 Ruby so I know how you're feeling. Vibration or not, check your tire pressure. Seems like dealers and such love to over inflate.

Welcome and this is the place for all your Jeeping questions! These people are a great help and just full of knowledge and experience. The good thing is if you are considering a new mod or having trouble you just have to ask or do some reading and you will get the benefit of all the experiences of this group. Both good and bad experiences...someone has usually found out the hard way about things and then others have found the best way.

Welcome to the Forum, there are lot's of great people and ideas here! And don't forget "The Wave"!
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
