Newbie TJ Rubicon Owner

I've been riding in my two boys' Jeeps for a few years now, and they've both pressured me into getting a Jeep of my own (I guess they don't want to always drive me around?). Actually, they just want me to be able to join in on the fun!

We found a great deal on a 2003 Rubicon recently, and it now sits in my driveway waiting for an adventure. I've been on the Rubicon Jeep and Jeepers Run three times as a co-pilot, and now I'm ready for this year's anniversary run!

In the meantime, I'm fixing a few wear items like bushings on the longarm suspension and new u-joints. My little black beauty doesn't look like it's ever scraped over anything yet, so I've upped the armor on the diffs with Poison Spider covers and one for the steering. It's already riding on a 6" lift and relatively new (cheap) 33's. We'll see how well the work together before I hit the trail in late July for its namesake run. I've also never driven these trails in a Jeep. I've had 4X4 K-5 Blazers and a pickup on a lot of terrain, but I was amazed the first time through the Rubicon with what a Jeep is capable of. I hope to drive up to its capabilities.

Anyway, just sayin' "Hi" like the admin asked. I look forward to reading a lot of good advice on these pages. I'll try to post once in a while, but only if I think it will be useful or interesting.

Have a great day!
