Newbie to WF from VA (99 TJ & 15 JKU)

Howdy all,

Been stalking around here for awhile, but just been too busy tinkering to post. I'm active duty Coast Guard (heard all the jokes, but feel free to entertain me with some you think I haven't heard) stationed on a lovely ship Portsmouth, Virginia. I drive the '99 TJ and my wife drives the '15 JKU. A lot of people get a kick out of our license plates, HIS TJ and HER JKU.

Bought my wife's JKU in 2015 as a custom order since the dealership totaled the one it was driving out to us. It had to be Sunset Orange and just the right options. Thankfully the dealer ate the cost of the order and we got a literal brand spanking new Jeep. After driving hers for a week when someone rear ended my RAM 1500, I got the bug. Sold my truck and bought '99 TJ from a PO who loved to wheel it.

I bought the '99 with a 3.5" lift and 35's and just got done putting a Rough Country 3.5" and 35's on the JKU. I agree the RC lift isn't very good, but it's a good starting point for getting 35's on it "safely." I've tricked out the sound systems in both (thanks to Mattk11 for the sub boxes for the JKU!) and done a modification or two to both Jeeps just about every weekend.

I should have listened to the dealer when they said JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket.

Probably the worst addiction I've ever had. Busted knuckles and empty pockets every weekend. Wouldn't have it any other way.
