Newbie with a question

Hi All! My name is Dan. I'm in the process of getting my first Jeep (hopefully) and am new to the forums. I recently relocated to Hatteras Island, NC.

I have a question and I'm hoping some of the more experienced owners may be able to provide guidance. I'm very new with Jeeps, and am admittedly not much of a "car guy" in general.

I had arranged a tentative agreement with a private party to trade my car for his 95 Wrangler. It's a 4.0 V6. He's done quite a bit to it from what I can tell: 3.5" lift, dana 44 front, dana 70 rear, Warn bumpers, upgraded 20 gal fuel cell where backseat was, 37" Pitbull rockers, etc etc. Anyway, at the last minute he tells me that he is having some difficulty turning the Jeep right, and only right. He says that he had his mechanic take a look at it, and was told that the "yoke spindle" needs to be replaced. I tried to do some research about this online and came up with nothing. My mechanic, also not a "Jeep guy", couldn't shed much light. He said it sounds like he may have bent something up while doing some rock climbing.

If anyone has any insight at all, as to what the issue might be and how serious, I'd REALLY appreciate it. I just spent money on my car getting the brakes all fixed up for him, so I'd hate to have to head straight to the shop after making the trade. If I do - any idea how much this will run??

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to "hanging out"!!

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.
