Old new guy

Hi all, already posted in TJ forum, but wanted to introduce myself here. I lived in AZ for many years where I bought my first Jeep, it was a '71 CJ5 with the 258 that I used for blazing trails in the desert and the occasional sand drag competition. I traded that for a '74 J4000 with a worn out 360 that I replaced with a built 401 and used it for tractor pulls. I had way too much fun for sure. Sold it when I moved to AL knowing I would find something once I got here. I found a '84 CJ8 again with an ailing 258. Didn't pay but $2500 for it so had a little money to play with. I welded a flange to the intake and bored it to except a Holley 2 barrel, put a cam in it and 6 into 2 headers. That combination really woke it up. With not knowing anybody to explore with I sold it. So, years later and after too much fun riding on two wheels I'm back to my first love, Jeep'n!

Sorry for the long post, but I'm happy to be here.

Dave

Hey DR I have an '02 TJ lined up that is bone stock. I've never owned a fuel injected Jeep so I'm not yet sure how far into the motor I'll go. I'll most likely go with a lift, add a winch and other bolt on equipment to get the look I'm after and go from there. I'll definitely post pics as I do the mods.

BTW I was born in the great state of Texas down in Corpus Christi.
