I'm Nate from Western MA. I have an '05 TJ Rubicon (Rubi)(DD), '53 Willys CJ3A (Monts), '47 CJ2A (The Jalopy) and another '47 (Patina). In other words, I'm not new to jeeps.
I also like to build jeep related accessories, like I built a matching trailer for my '53 in my high school welding class, and to work on antique motorcycles, my dad has a bunch of Indians.
The TJ has the 4.0 with a six speed behind it. It has zero rust and I hope to keep it that way. My dad thinks it will be the next collectible(me too), so I want to take good care of it.
My dad and I did a complete frame off restoration to the '53 starting in '07 when I was 14. This jeep was originally bought by Monsanto Chemical Co. in Springfield. That's how it got its name.
The Jalopy has been quite the
. When I first got, the PO had everything and I mean EVERYTHING screwed up that he worked on. I've fixed everything since then. The tranny (T14 3sp) was about blown, so I put a T18 w/ granny in it. It has a 225 V6 oddfire under the hood. This guy is my trail rig. Nothing purdy.
This summer, I'm going to build a new frame for it since the 2A frame is pretty weak and twists pretty easy. I'm also going to put TJ (possibly fronts in all four corners) coil springs in it for better flex.
And Patina is my farm jeep. Crusty and rusty, but I like it. I have no plans for it yet, except for some newish front springs I have...
I thought I had some pics of the Rubicon, but I guess I lost them when my computer crashed.
I guess I'll have to go take some...
