Planning on buying my first Jeep tomorrow!!

I've finally decided to get a Jeep after always wanting one for the last 20 years. I'm taking a 3 hour trip to look at the TJ shown below, it looks to be in great shape and has 67,800 miles which isn't bad for a 2003. If all goes well and I bring this baby home, should I plan to replace all of the fluids (oil, coolant, brake, transmission) to be on the safe side unless it has detailed service history?

This will make 2 "convertibles" for me, my other car is a S2000.

Welcome to the forum! That is a beauty. When I got mine home I did just as you asked and replaced everything. You can add diffs to that list too. But then I'm half nuts. Also I greased every zert I could find. I pushed out all the old untill I could see the new. They are tuff vehicles but how tuff they are is in direct line with how well they are maintained. I will wrench on mine but it's not the reason I have one, I'd rather be driving.

can you run the VIN number beforehand to see its service record?

Ditto. I should be getting my first jeep tomorrow too. A 98 TJ Sport. I've wanted a Jeep since CJ's were on the dealer floor. Damn. Never too late.

Well I bought a Jeep today but not the one pictured above. It just didn't "speak" to me when I saw it. I did see this puppy on the way down and stopped to look at it on the way home and fell in love.

It's a 2004 with 41k miles. The interior is spotless and the motor purrs. The tires are a little larger than I wanted but the ride isn't too bad. I had a 3 hour drive home so I had some time to get used to them. It seems to be running on the stock gears but with OD off (4 speed auto) it ran great on the interstate coming home. Best I can tell it has a 2" spacer lift on the springs and a 1" or 2" body lift. Tires are 35x12.5x17. Gonna take some time to go through it tomorrow and put a nice coat of wax on her (so the dirt comes off easier later.
