Old guy here.
Currently running a '99 XJ Cherokee Sport 4.0l
I like it but realize it's getting old. (minus all the new stuff I had to add to keep it safe)
Out of the blue, the wife says... "I like that, (pointing to a newer Wrangler)."
Huh??? Where did that come from?
Sooooo.... that was a sign
1) 1st mistake: I started looking at TJ's for a couple of weeks until I realized all I was going to do was trade my comfy long wheelbase for a short w/b with the same engine that gets really bad mileage.
2) Then I upped my game a little and started looking at the JK's. Much nicer even though I'd wind up with a short w/b I could live with it.
3) Prices are
which made me look toward new.
4) The very first new
one I looked at had serious build problems. The soft top sucked so bad that when you closed the drivers door the top half blew outward so I'm pretty sure driving at anything over 35mph the inside would have been filled with so much air it would of looked like a balloon.
5) Back to looking at used, with a hardtop. Hopefully I can find one that has all the bugs worked out at a decent price. Might take a while, though.
