South Central Newb

Well, thought I'd introduce myself as "The Bane". I live in the South Central US. Had a massively lifted CJ7 when I was 17 and wheeled it like there was no tomorrow. Miss that thing. Had International Scout axles under it and 8" steel bumpers front and back filled with concrete.... good times.

Here I am, much older, but still wanting another Jeep. My Jeep-fever hit an all time high when the dealer gave me a loner for two days that was a traded in 2015 on 35s. Lift was done all wrong in my opinion, but I had to have one after driving it. So, now that the kids are a bit older, and with Momma's okay - I bought one new. One of the last 2015 JKXUs (hope I got the nomenclature right) left on the lot. Had about 250 miles on it and just rolled over 1000 in stock configuration.

As I said, wife okay'd the purchase, but HATED the loner when she drove it. It had tons of bump steer (realized later it had no caster correction) and she turned around in it in less than five miles. Now from that experience I've got quite the uphill battle for 'upgrading' my new "Piney Wood Rooter".

Anyway, glad to be here! I'll see ya in the forums

I miss my old CJ7. I drove it like I stole it and had a V8 setup ready to go when I blew the I6. That never happened amazingly enough. Old I6 was bullet proof! It's kinda bitter sweet now, I have a new Jeep but it's... new, and I am old and not as care-free anymore (know what it takes to make a buck). Can't imagine plowing through the woods with the new one and rolling into the garage to blast it with a can of 'rustoleum touch up paint', like I did with the old CJ.

Best,
The Bane
