TJ in Jersey

Greetings from South Jersey

I am a thirty nine year old male who has just acquired his first Jeep: a '98 Wrangler Sahara in semi-mint condition. It is a big event in my life. My Wrangler is hunter green with tan interior, and green/tan seats. A fairly stock model. I'll take a few pics and post them tomorrow; it's 10 PM as I write this. Oh, and it's an automatic. I know, I know. You can't say anything about my whimpy transmission I haven't heard already...lol I just don't understand why anyone would want to deal with a manual.

I have wanted a wrangler for a very long time. I have driven showroom new Lexus and Pathfinders for the past 15 years, and didn't treasure them half as much as my used 98' Wrangler. I don't know what it is about driving a Wrangler. You just feel like you are part of an elite club or something. Every time I see a Jeep Wrangler it's like seeing a close friend or family member. I can't describe this phenomenon. I am always ooohing and aaahing over an especially beautiful vehicle. I find Red with a black hard top especially appealing. I really seem to have caught the Wrangler fever.

*I have noticed that other Wrangler drivers heading towards me in oncoming traffic often give some sort of signal. Maybe the peace sign? Can someone tell me if there is some form of Wrangler etiquette? Should I be greeting my fellow Wrangler drivers with a traditional signal or acknowledgment?

Looking forward to becoming an established member of Jeep Wrangler Forum.

Best regards,

Brandt

Voilá

Thanks for the welcomes. Here she is. My newly acquired Green Machine. No mods. I am very conservative, and happy with my stock rig. I figured the summer is over, so I'll leave the hard top on until next year. The soft top is in that little white shed in the background. And she NEVER goes off road. I know: kind of defeats the purpose of a Wrangler. But maybe I'll take her into Wharton State forest looking for the Jersey Devil someday.

Welcome to the forum. The Jeep wave is pretty much nation wide. I live in Ca and see and do it all the time.
