Hey all! I am a new wrangler sport owner and I am looking forward to getting my baby dirty. I have been off roading forever but in the passengers seat. My dream has come true and I can't wait to learn how to play without harming my jeep since it's my daily ride. Any advice for a novice?

Where abouts are you located? What kind of terrain is available? For a novice a local club might be good idea, learning to read the road isn't necessarily something easy to teach on a forum ;-)..

Maybe someone could point you to youtube vidoes that might provide some help..

Generally it's a bad idea.. in particular for a novice to go wheeling alone. so keep that in mind.

I am Suffolk county on Long Island ny. I would not go it solo cuz I enjoy life and my jeep. I was just kinda hoping for a heads up on some nice trails or places others like yourself have learned on. Any advice is appreciated! Thanx

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

Welcome to the forum! I'm also from suffolk county and I have some bad news for you…there are no legal wheel spots on Long Island other than beaches. A lot of people will get an Outer beach pass to ride on beaches such as Montalk or Smiths Point. I just stick to my town beaches because they're closer and the pass is only $45. The closest place for us to go is rausch creek in PA. Hope this helps you out.

Edit: The outer beach pass is $93 for residents, plus you need a green card, which is an additional $23
