Wanna buy a sahara...

Hi, I want to buy a 2010 Sahara, mostly for in town use, with some sandy offroading, I love the jeep so much so I don't want to be disappointed, I would like to know if there is any issues or things that might make me disappointed, so I buy it while I know what I might face.

Also I would like to know how good is the performance of the A/C, and the auto trans?

You can't go wrong with a Jeep but you could go wrong if you knew every thing that was gonna happen to you in life without any surprises? The sahara is a great trim and offers some cool stuff but IMO I would buy one without all the power accessories that come on that model.

We bought a Shara three months ago for the same purpose that you have in mind, mostly Urban but some fun use too. Ours is Deep water Blue with a black hard top. The temps in Virginia this summer have been very hot, up to 104, with a lot of days over 95. The a/c struggled to keep up when the temps were high and the sun was shining on the black top. Really like the car though. We haven taken the roof panels off on nice nights to cruise and have had the top off for some fun rides. We bought ours mainly for snow and rainy days.
Hope this helps.

I love mine. Bought it in mid January and I just returned from Moab. As I approached my exit on the interstate, I saw that I had put on 33,334 miles in less than a year. No real problems, just a bad tranny that was warranteed. Mine is stock, but that should change shortly.

Good choice. Mine is a 4 door btw.

What problem was it with the tranny?

Assembly issue. Metal shavings in the tranny.

That's a good point, because where I live is extremely hot, it's now 122 in the shade, so I wanna know if the hard top is isolated enough or I will have my head cooked while I'm driving?!

What really makes the car hot is when the sun is shinning on the black hard top. As you know, there is no insulation and the top gets HOT. If you put the A/C on max and the vents directed towards you, it is O.K. but not great.

If there is one common problem that I hear from 1st time Jeep owners is that they don't have any pep. Keep in mind that you are looking at a Jeep not a sports car. The rubi has higher gearing that makes it more nimble with a more beefy drive train and beefier price tag. If you ,in the future, want to go to much bigger tires the sturdier drive train and higher gears will already be there. Just something to think about.
