Hey what's up everyone? I got tired of having a ridiculous truck payment so I got rid of my 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD crew cab and picked up my new to me '93 YJ with the 4.0, automatic, 111,xxx miles, and a recent RC 4" lift with some 33" M/T tires. It's got some work that needs to be done and I'm excited to do it and excited I no longer have the old truck payment haha. It came with a hard top that was barely staying on and a tore up back seat. I've already put on a new soft top (bestop sunrider, love it so far) and a new back seat. I've got two kids so I need to be able to haul them in the jeep if need be or on trips to the beach.
I've already done the typical tune up; plugs, cap, wires, air filter, tires balanced (55mph was scary before this was done!), will get fresh oil in her this weekend along with a coolant flush. Also replaced the CCV vacuum lines as the old ones were shot.
Next up on my list is to fix the leaking transfer case rear housing seal, rear diff yoke seal, might as well have some new gears put in as well because this thing is a pig with the stock 3.07s in it running 33s and an auto. PO didn't do the transfer case drop so will do that as well. Some of the stock body mount bushings are completely shot so I will replace those eventually too.
Anyways, the list will never end. I'm glad to be here and in the short week and a half that I've been a jeep owner I have learned a ton from this site and look forward to learning more.
Btw, one last thing about me is I've been in the Army now for almost 9 years and am headed to Hawaii next year.
I've been a detailed recruiter for the past 2.5 years so if you or any one you know is considering enlisting I can give you guys the details from an honest recruiters perspective so you or whoever else will know what they are getting into and any issues that come with the enlistment process.
The day I picked her up
After the top was installed
Another shot with no doors again
And the new back seat installed. It gives the inside a "new" feel all around haha
