First of all, just as a background note, it is a Willys (with an "s") edition and is in honor of the Willys-Overland company that built WWII Jeeps and were the first to produce civilian Jeeps. Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

I went with the Willys because the package has a lot of functional upgrades over the basic Sport models without a lot of "bells and whistles" stuff, which is precisely what I wanted. Performance suspension, Rubicon wheels and tires, 3.73 gear ratio, rock rails, Connectivity group, plus a couple of other goodies like the trail kit, slush mats, and grab handles that you don't get on the Sport. I didn't want power anything and really just wanted to jeep to be as basic as possible but still with good capability. The Willys gave me everything I wanted and nothing that I don't.

I also really wanted half doors and you can only get those on a couple of packages., the Sport S and the Willys I think. Can't get them on the Sahara or the Rubicon.

I actually got turned on to the Willys here on the forum when I was thinking about getting the Sport S, and when I mentioned the options I wanted on it someone pointed out that the Willys comes standard with most of what I was adding to the Sport S.

Plus, I'm a history buff, especially World War II, so the Willys really appealed to me on that level. I think the black wheels and accents look great on that package too, especially with the Tank color.

Welcome Aboard! A better question would be why not Willys?

I just bought a Willys....all other functional reasons aside, this thing just looks bad-ass!!! I wrestled with the color and settled on white. I would never have gotten a white jeep (look too much like the old mail trucks), except in the willys. Its really 50% white and 50% black. My second choice was possibly yellow, or anvil. Go Willy's!!! you wont regret it.

I agree with Chief. I left out the power group stuff also. The only thing I added was bluetooth connectivity, gotta have my pandora.

Welcome!

I am awaiting my Willys W to be delivered.

Everyone will have their opinions. I Love the Two tone look. I got Sunset Orange..and the only other color allowed is Black. No chrome, silver...nothing. It was the look I wanted.

I also enjoy the upgrades to the off road package on the Willys. Soo looking forard to getting it dirty!

ALL jeep will handle off roading. Some just have a few more items that I would not need to upgrade soon.
